Mandela’s legacy shines as a beacon of hope and healing, and as a potent reminder of the power of the human spirit to overcome impossible odds.
Officially declared by the United Nations in 2009, Nelson Mandela International Day is celebrated each year on 18 July, Mandela’s birthday.
Mandela day is a global call to action that celebrates the idea that everyone has the power to transform the world and the ability to make an IMPACT. This year’s theme challenged us to Take action & Inspire change. YALI Abuja dedicated the day to visit the elderly peoples home. Madiba spent 67 years fighting for his country so we spent 67 mins learning, playing, praying and dancing with our mummies and daddies. We also cleaned their environment and shared the provisions, food items and gifts we bought to them.
Below are some pictures from our visit.
